Ritual, 2019
Medium: Painted steel
Dimensions: 3’x6”x7’
Ritual is a fabricated steel sculpture that blurs the line between a functional door and an art object. Its uncanny placement and ability to be opened or closed is meant to engage the viewer by spurring questions and investigation. Ritual activates the viewer’s imagination, and the viewer can open, close, and walk through the door, becoming an active participant in the creative production. It was exhibited at The Bascom Center for the Arts’ 2021-2022 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition.
